General comments
Bij massale aspiratie kan overwogen worden om metronidazol toe te voegen.
Er moet binnen 12-24 uur een pneumokokken-urineantigeentest verricht worden; indien positief versmal het antibiotische beleid zo gauw patiënt verbeterd is of er een microbiologische diagnose is.
Er moet binnen 12-24 uur een Legionella-urineantigeentest verricht worden.
Indien er recente (<1 jaar geleden) kolonisatie van de luchtwegen is met Pseudomonas empirisch beleid aanpassen aan bekende resistentie.
Indien er recente (<1 jaar geleden) kolonisatie is met ESBL: empirisch beleid daarop aanpassen.
Bij goede klinische respons behandelduur 5 dagen.
